What Are High Volume Penny Stocks?

When you are investing on the stock market, the volume influences the price fluctuations through supply and demand. When you are looking at high volume penny stocks, this mean that there are a lot of transactions being made with that stock. And the same goes with low volume, there are not that many transactions with these stocks.

When you are investing in high volume penny stocks, the volume of these penny stocks is where the action is or where the money flows. There is still research that needs to be done on each individual high volume penny stocks but an investor does not want to pick a high volume penny stock just because there is a lot of transactions being done.

Technically speaking on high volume penny stocks, the volume is called the TVI or trading volume index. This is a technical indicator that measures the money that is flowing in and out of an asset.

This indicator is mainly used by day traders to identify whether a security or asset is being bought or sold. There is also an on balance volume indicator but this indicator focuses on the closing volume of the high volume penny stocks.

High volume penny stocks are associated with increasing and falling prices which means that it is moving and has activity. The low volume stocks will probably not be able to continue on the stock market.

The reason that investors need to research the high volume penny stocks even though they are high volume is because the stocks have what is called a market depth. This is related to the liquidity and volume within a security or asset. If the investor is going to invest in high volume penny stocks that have a good market depth, then they are probably making a good decision.

High volume penny stocks can have a lot of activity to it because of an imbalance of large orders but this not mean that the stocks won't drop and fade away the very next day. The easy way to explain this is in terms of tree roots. If high volume penny stocks, when researched have definite roots in the stock market and they are well-known stocks where the companies are rooted in their industry, then the high volume penny stocks probably have market depth.

But there have been some high volume penny stocks that were from a new security or asset and word got around that it was a hot commodity so there are a lot of hits on those types of high volume penny stocks giving the impression they have market depth just to turn around and it be a one hit wonder.
